“National Lampoon’s Vacation” sequel posts family photo of the Griswolds

Even though no one asked for another sequel to “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” somebody decided it’d be cool to make one focusing on young Rusty all grown up with a family of his own.

They even conned Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo into reprising their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold. Though that’s not much of a stretch as they did the same for some Old Navy commercials back in 2012.

And yes, that is D’Angelo in the picture on the far right.

Seriously.

Now I’m confused about another thing.

Did the producers not realize that Anthony Michael Hall, who played Rusty in the first “Vacation” movie, is, well, all grown up? Why isn’t he playing the Rusty part instead of Ed Helms?

I mean, I can see dodging Jason Lively (“European Vacation”). John Galecki (“Christmas Vacation”) is far too busy with “The Big Bang Theory” to give a shit about a sequel, though I bet if the price was right he’d be all in. Ethan Embry (“Vegas Vacation”)?

Who?

Okay, he’s out.

And did you know there were even two more “Vacation” movies after those? Didn’t care? Neither did I.

And yet, here comes another sequel.
