Urban Fantasy author Mark Wooden coming to Clermont Comic Con 2015

clermont-comic-con-logo-2015Orlando author Mark Wooden will appear at the Clermont Comic Con in Clermont, Florida on November 22, 2015. This event marks Wooden’s first book signing since self-publishing the “Shadowdance” urban fantasy, action-adventure saga in 2013.

By day, Wooden works in the audio-video industry as a video engineer and camera switcher, having toured with Jimmy Buffett, the Healthsouth “Go For It!” Roadshow and Mary J Blidge. He’s also worked various internal Disney events. He uses the downtime between shows to write the “Shadowdance” novels as well as scripts for movies and web series.

Finding an audience has been no easy task, but Wooden perseveres. “That’s why I’m at the Clermont Comic Con and why I intend to do more of this in 2016. The audience is out there, especially now with the open acceptance of geek culture. And who doesn’t love a sexy, ass-kicking vampire assassin?”

In addition to writing and publishing under the Writer Geek Press banner, Wooden personally handles communication with his audience through Twitter, Facebook and the Shadowdancesaga.com website. He also organized the photo shoot which captured model Anastasia Wolff as the character Adriana Dupré, the “Face of Shadowdance.”

“The ‘Shadowdance’ saga is the literary answer to movies like ‘Underworld’ and ‘Blade,’” Wooden says. “The novel experience allows the readers deeper immersion into the lives of the characters. Readers will revel in the intrigue and the interlocking histories of the characters and true historical fact.”

Adriana Dupré is the vampire assassin protagonist of “By Virtue Fall.” This first volume finds Adriana out for revenge against a cult of female vampire assassins who made her younger sister one of them. Adriana strikes a deal with Dwyer Strathan, a sorcerer masquerading as a Hollywood bad boy actor; she’ll retrieve two ancient relics for him in exchange for info on her lost sister. Adriana must decide if learning her sister’s fate is worth giving Strathan the power to destroy the world.

In 2014, Wooden released a sequel, “For Her Sins.” Both “Shadowdance” novels are available through online retailers Amazon, iTunes and Smashwords in both digital and physical formats. The Clermont Comic Con is on November 22 at the Clermont Performing Arts Center. Tickets are only $10 and the show runs 10 am to 5 pm.
