Mark Wooden
A lifelong fan of James Bond, John Woo movies, G.I. Joe, Batman, and the X-Men, Mark created the Shadowdance saga to fuse supernatural creatures, cinematic action, and hard moral choices into one relentless narrative. His debut novel, Two Sisters, launches the Assassin’s Absolution trilogy — a grim, fast-paced tale laced with sharp dialogue and bursts of dark humor.
Mark’s short story, “Fall to Grace,” was a quarterfinalist in the 2017 ScreenCraft Cinematic Short Story contest. Horror legend Clive Barker once called the monster in Mark’s independent short film Where the Heart Bleeds “terrifying.” Mark was also a film critic for Comic Book Resources and his college newspaper.
Between catching up on movies and comic books, Mark writes fanfiction mashups featuring Batman, Iron Man, and the occasional Mortal Kombat fatality. He’s toured with Jimmy Buffett and Mary J. Blige as a video engineer. Ask him about the time he literally ran into Harrison Ford.
