Cinematic genre fiction, dark mythmaking, and narrative experiments from the creator of the "Shadowdance" dark action fantasy saga—stories of power, consequence, and justice for the bad guys.
Comic book fanfiction allows writer Mark Wooden to combine characters from DC and Marvel with characters from other mediums, like video games.
I’ve already done quite a few fanfictions. I’ve teamed Batman and Iron Man. It seemed logical — two billionaires who use high-tech items to bring justice to the world.
Okay, that’s what Batman does. Iron Man does it because he messed something up and has to fix it.
I included Batgirl in the story. I later made an entire Batgirl fanfiction that teamed her with Black Canary and Sonya Blade from the “Mortal Kombat” games. A new version of Birds of Prey.
The Batman! Now y’all know I’m a big Batman fan. If ya didn’t know, now ya do. Rather than give multiple versions of my thoughts, Imma start a new segment of my Thoughts From the Shed podcast. I’m calling it “My Thoughts!” Let’s start with The Batman!
It’s that time of year again when you empty your pockets to give to the ones you love! So what to get that writer geek cowboy or cowgirl in your life? Writer Mark Wooden is here with a few ideas!
For today’s how-to writer commentary, I’ll discuss using the Batcave or any setting to enhance the mood and develop character. Kinda like the title says.
I like to write these commentaries as a peaceful release from the shit show going on outside my window. Hopefully, reading the commentary is for you too. Which is why I’m doubling up on commentaries today and Friday. And because I forgot to post these last week. But win-win?
Darnit! With the epic Hellscape that was America last week, I forgot to post this and the Friday editions. So, you’ll get a double-up today and Friday of how to write excitement. Stay safe out there.
Time for another writer’s commentary installment! This time we’ll look at world-building by using a character’s point of view. In this case, the character is Iron Man/ Tony Stark.
Writer commentary time! No, I’m not privileged enough to write Batgirl in anything other than fanfiction, but I did it and now let’s learn from it!
Hello friends! I hope quarantine is going well for you. If it’s not, you need to read more. I can help with that at the end of this write-up. In the meantime, here’s the second part of the writer commentary for my Batman/ Iron Man fanfiction, “Armored Underworld.”
This week’s Writer’s Commentary takes us to the beginning of my “Armored Underworld” story. It was set up as a Batman/ Iron Man crossover, but I started the story featuring — Batgirl.
Hello friends! Hope you and yours are doing okay and not being stupid and running around without a mask. Now’s the time to do cosplay all day (as long as you cover your mouth!) No fanfiction this week; devoted my time to the prequel to my two other “Shadowdance” urban fantasy novels. More on that […]
