Kevin Spacey made a not-so-subtle dig at all the people who dropped him like a hot potato when his numerous sexual misconduct allegations came to light. Now he’s ready to get back to acting.
Should we, the audience, take him back or avoid him?
Kevin Spacey faces allegations of sexual misconduct (and worse)
During the heyday of #MeToo, Kevin Spacey found himself shut out of Hollywood due to the allegations against him.
It cost him the final season of his flagship show, House of Cards, as well as several other roles.
Spacey admitted in a 2024 interview with Piers Morgan that he even went broke, which happens when your livelihood is abruptly stripped from you. It sucks when your career nosedives because you receive allegations of sexual misconduct.
Of course, you could also behave in a manner that doesn’t lend to allegations of sexual misconduct.
Spacey’s story now, for him and us
The question for all of us is, does Spacey get to return to his career?

His case is easier than, say, notorious Roman “he plead guilty to statutory rape charges to avoid heavier charges but then fled the country” Polanski.
Spacey has one more case to deal with, but has so far been found not responsible in his civil suits and acquitted in his criminal cases.
Whether he did anything or not, legally, he’s clean, so we have to respect that.
Polanski’s ass is far from clean, and he’s been making movies — and winning praise and awards –ever since. Only recently was the case dismissed.
If that’s the bar, Spacey should be signing up for a Seven sequel (though they should NEVER make a Seven sequel).
Mark’s verdict on Kevin Spacey’s return
When someone is accused of a heinous crime, yes, they should lose their privileges until things are sorted out. No one should profit while a scumbag criminal.
That includes the President of the United States. But Americans are totally cool with that, I guess.
How’s that working out, America?
But once you’re shown as clean, you should be welcomed back into the fold, perhaps not with fanfare, but without the guilt.
What say you, dear reader? Would you accept Spacey back? Would you have to do the “Death of the Artist” thing to accept him?
Or are there just too many credible accusations for you to ever accept watching him in anything other than a prison documentary?
Sound off in the comments.
