Batgirl confronts Gotham crime lord Black Mask and the mystery woman who attached her.

Black Mask sat in the chair behind his desk and looked across the fifty feet to the spacious office’s entrance.
A red-haired woman, her demeanor all business, entered. That was a pity; she was quite the looker —looks could kill, though.
“And to what do I owe this pleasure?” Mask asked. “And how did you get past my guards out there?”
“They need better training,” the newcomer said, her Russian accent prevalent. “I have a message, one my employer felt important enough to deliver in person.”
“This breaks all your super-secret protocols,” Mask teased.
Rothers had taken a position to Mask’s right in front of the desk. Han moved to intercept the newcomer. The red-haired woman stared at Han.
“This doesn’t need to be a confrontation,” she said.
“Don’t mind Miss Han,” Mask said. “She’s harmless. Until she has to cause harm, anyway.”
The newcomer took this under advisement, then looked to Black Mask. “I had to destroy the initial shipment.”
Black Mask jumped to his feet. “You did that? Then you owe me some money!”
“My employer is not responsible for your people being unable to hold on to what’s theirs. Nor is he responsible for the intrusion by one of this city’s vigilantes.”
Mask wanted to respond, but the woman did have a point.
“However, my employer does understand that things happen in this business. He does wish to continue this alliance.”
“What is he offering?” Rothers asked.
“We will supply you with another shipment, at our expense.”
Black Mask looked genuinely happy. As happy as he could from behind a black mask. “I think I like your employer. Whoever the hell he is.”
“We will deliver at our expense, but there is still a price,” the woman said. “You will not reveal our deal to anyone outside of this room. You will also make no attempts to follow me, or learn the identity of my employer.”
“Lady, as long as those little pop guns of his work, he could be the f-ing Batman for all I care!” Black Mask said.
“Which brings me to another problem,” the red-haired woman said. “When I destroyed the original shipment, I encountered Batgirl. To maintain my secrecy, I need her eliminated.”
“Now that’s not very nice!”
Black Mask and the others in the room turned to the doorway from where the female’s voice came.
“Batgirl!” Black Mask said to the crime fighter standing there. “Thanks for making this easy!”
“Batgirl!” Black Mask said. Thanks for making this easy!”
Minutes earlier, on the roof of the Wayne-owned building, Batgirl fired a Batline across to Sionis Tower. Using a pulley and handholds, she slid along the line to the other building.
Batman had used the ventilation system to sneak into Black Mask’s office. When the Mask found the few audio bugs he did find, he immediately had the office floor renovated to shrink the size of the ventilation shafts.
Batman couldn’t make it through, but Batgirl could.
She made her way to the lobby outside the office. Five guards were unconscious. Batgirl heard Mask and the others talking in the office. She dropped down into the lobby and waited for an opportune moment to make an entrance.
Hearing them talking about killing her seemed a good time.
Batgirl cautiously walked toward Mask and the others. She held her hands at her sides, trying to be as disarming as possible.
“This doesn’t have to get ugly,” Batgirl said. She pointed at the red-haired woman. “All I want is her. You can keep your little Sopranos wonderland of crime.”
Black Mask sat back in his chair. “Well ya see, dearie,” he began, “I just made a deal with her. And I was about to make another deal with her about you.”
Han stepped into a defensive position between the red-head and Batgirl.
“I don’t think you and Miss Han have met,” Black Mask said.
Batgirl shook her head. So much for the non-violent approach.
Han stared Batgirl down, but it didn’t bother her. What did get Batgirl’s attention was the purple light emitting from Han’s left eye. It was like a battery had clicked on.
Batgirl then remembered a note in Batman’s file on Han. The girl possessed the ability to generate energy.
She was cycling up.
